 Abstract:  The collection contains a handwritten letter from A. Englander of San Francisco to Rabbi Isaac Leeser, an important rabbi, scholar and educator based in Philadelphia. Englander's letter discusses the Jewish community in San Francisco, specifically the attempt by Benjamin II, the pen name of traveller and explorer Israel Joseph Benjamin of Moldavia, to raise money to search for the lost tribes of Israel in China.

The letter fills the front and back of a page of regular lined notebook paper, and is written in reasonably hard to decipher Hebrew. Included with the letter is the envelope in which it came.

The collection consists of the personal papers, correspondence, speech notes, and halakhic writings of Rabbi Aaron David Burack. Ranging from the 1910s to the late 1950s, the material documents Rabbi Burack's career as a rabbi, speaker and public figure.

 Abstract:  Alexander Donat was born in Warsaw in 1905, where he was the publisher and editor of a daily newspaper. After the liquidation of the Warsaw Ghetto, he was sent to four different concentration camps. After the war, he was reunited with his wife and son and they relocated to New York, where he also became a publisher and wrote his memoir "The Holocaust Kingdom." The collection contains 14 black and white photographs of the Ghetto, along with two articles written by Donat.
