 Abstract:  Temami Gezari (1905-2009) was a painter, sculptor and muralist, and a renowned art educator. The collection consists of materials documenting her activities directing the Board of Jewish Education of Greater New York's Art Department from 1940 until 2002 and consists of files from numerous exhibits held in conjunction with art education programs at Jewish schools and community centers, and of administrative records and publications from the BJE's Art Department. It also contains personal files from Gezari's work as an artist and sculptor.

 Abstract:  Names, Not Numbers is an educational oral history documentation project for teaching the Holocaust created by Tova Fish-Rosenberg in which students, advised by journalists, filmmakers and teachers, create taped interviews with either Holocaust survivors or World War II veterans that they subsequently edit and combine into a documentary film. Additionally, the filmmaker tapes the participants and produces a mini-documentary entitled Names, Not Numbers: A Movie in the Making. The collection consists of the films produced by students at the various participant schools, as well as the filmmakers' mini-documentaries. There is also a file of background information and publicity about the project.

 Abstract:  Naphtali Herz Homberg (1749-1841) was a member of the Haskalah (Jewish Enlightenment) in Galicia. Homberg persuaded the Austrian government to tax candles kindled by Jews on Shabbat (Sabbath) and Yomim Tovim (holidays). The collection contains two documents relating to this tax and an unidentified Yiddish letter.
