 Abstract:  Orthodox Jewish relief organization established in 1939 initially to provide funds for rabbis and religious students in war-torn Europe and to work for their emigration. Involved in negotiations with Germans to save Jews from concentration camps, and provided assistance to Jews who fled Europe to places such as Japan and Shanghai. Provided spiritual rehabilitation to concentration camp survivors following World War II, and arranged for visas for refugee rabbis and religious students to the United States.

 Abstract:  Victor B. Geller is a Jewish communal leader and author. He has served in a number of important positions at the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary (RIETS) and other Jewish institutions, and is the author of Orthodoxy Awakens: The Belkin Era and Yeshiva University. The collection contains material related to Yeshiva University, the Yeshiva Rabbi Dov Revel of Forest Hills, New York, the Yeshiva High School of Queens, and various other Jewish communal organizations.

 Abstract:  Rabbi Victor Vorhand served as head of Vaad Hatzala at the Czechoslovakia branch from 1946 and director of the Austrian branch from January 1949 to November 1949. He oversaw all immigration activities and religious operations. The collection contains a tape recording of an interview with Rabbi Victor Vorhand, together with photocopies of his correspondence and documents pertaining to Vaad Hatzala and the Rescue Children, Inc.
