Abstract: | Kate Diamant Caro was a German-born Jewish activist. She and her family survived the Holocaust by hiding in Belgium. Mrs. Caro's brother Maurice Diamant was active in Rescue Children, Inc. operations in Belgium in 1946. Mrs. Caro brought Charles Caro (no relation) and Irene Gutman to New York in 1947 for a Busy Buddies fundraising luncheon (coordinated by affluent American women to assist the orphans) and helped arrange for their adoptions by American families.
