 Abstract:  The first person with the name Caro was a 2nd century Tanna, Rabbi Haninah Caro. Many of his descendents became rabbis, including his most famous descendent, Rabbi Joseph Caro, the author of the Shulchan Aruch. This genealogical chart gives names and biographical information about many of the members of the Caro family, up until 1962.

 Abstract:  Collection consists of handwritten family history notes, in Hebrew, from 1888 to 1954, by Yisrael Shmuel Rabi(nowitz?), who was born in Korets, presently in Ukraine. They are written on pages of a copy of Solomon Ganzfried's Kitzur Shulhan Arukh (Code of Jewish Law), printed in Warsaw in 1874, which belonged to Rabinowitz.

 Abstract:  The Gitelson family were prominent New York City business owners and bibliophiles, who established many library collections. Moses Leo Gitelson undertook various projects to microfilm library collections, and published a scholarly journal, The Chronicle, with his daughter Susan. The collection consists of 23 microfilm reels of some of their projects, as well as films of their journal. There are also two bound copies of bookplates for various Gitelson library collections.
