Goldstein and of his wife, Rebecca (Fischel) Goldstein. Herbert Goldstein founded the Institutional Synagogue in Harlem in 1917, and occupied leadership positions in numerous Jewish organizations. Rebecca (Fischel) Goldstein, daughter of the philanthropist Harry Fischel, was an active communal leader as well. Also included are papers relating to the rabbinic activities of their son-in-law O.
