 Abstract:  Names, Not Numbers is an educational oral history documentation project for teaching the Holocaust created by Tova Fish-Rosenberg in which students, advised by journalists, filmmakers and teachers, create taped interviews with either Holocaust survivors or World War II veterans that they subsequently edit and combine into a documentary film. Additionally, the filmmaker tapes the participants and produces a mini-documentary entitled Names, Not Numbers: A Movie in the Making. The collection consists of the films produced by students at the various participant schools, as well as the filmmakers' mini-documentaries. There is also a file of background information and publicity about the project.

The collection contains correspondence with members of the Training Bureau faculty and local cooperating agencies and organizations. Also included are the minutes and reports of the Board of Trustees and Board of Governors, as well as materials on courses, faculty and students.

The American Friends of Hebrew University brought the achievements of Hebrew University to the United States by bringing scholars and scientists to American communities to give lectures and recruit students. The collection consists of a membership recruitment letter and application, an article, a memo, and an invitation, all pertaining to the American Friends of Hebrew University.

 Abstract:  Alvin Schiff, a renowned Jewish educator, served as executive vice president of the Board of Jewish Education of Greater New York (BJE) from 1970-1991. The collection primarily consists of materials created and collected by Schiff during his time at the BJE, and is on a broad range of topics relating to Jewish communal life, the majority of which are on Jewish education. The materials mostly consist of printed reports and pamphlets, however there are also some internal organizational reports and studies, as well as several term papers.

 Abstract:  Peter Wiernik was a prominent Yiddish journalist active in many Jewish organizations. The collection contains his records of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, with which he was involved, as well as records of other organizations he participated in. It also contains his personal papers, including correspondence from the 1920s and 1930s in the areas of Jewish belles-lettres, philanthropy and Yiddish journalism. His notes, drafts of articles, and newspaper clippings reflect his interest in Jewish political issues, history, bibliography and literature. The papers of his sister, Bertha Wiernik, contain correspondence and several plays she wrote in the 1930s and 1940s.
