 Abstract:  Chaim Ben Zion Notelevitz was a rabbi and Jewish communal leader. He served as chief Orthodox rabbi in Louisville, Kentucky, from 1932 to 1941, and held leadership positions in a number of Jewish organizations. Rabbi Notelevitz wrote several books and articles on topics related to Jewish law. The collection contains novellae on Maimonides and Passover sacrifices, as well as a letter to Rabbi Aaron Zlotavitz, secretary of the Council of Rabbis in Brooklyn, N.Y. (1946).

 Abstract:  Rabbi Solomon B. Friedman, a native of Cleveland, Ohio, was the first rabbi to be ordained by the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary in 1919. He acted as executive secretary of the New York State Kashruth Advisory Board. The collection contains correspondence, notices, and minutes of a meeting that concern issues of Kashrut (Jewish dietary laws).
