| Abstract: | Lillian Hoffman was born and lived in Denver, Colorado, and was active in numerous philanthropic causes throughout her life, in particular, Soviet Jewry. The collection consists of a six-volume work compiled by Hoffman's daughter Sheila Bialek to document her mother's life and work in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Hoffman's Soviet Jewry activism. Video recordings of recollections of Hoffman by former Soviet refuseniks and Soviet Jewry activists, as well as several news articles about an event Bialek held in East Hampton, N.Y. in August, 2010 to honor of her mother's accomplishments, are also included. | |
