Abstract: | Richard Gottheil was born in Manchester, England in 1862, and moved to the United States in 1873. He became the first professor of Semitic studies at Columbia College after 1886, and he published works in Hebrew and Arabic in his field. The collection contains correspondence with him between 1887 and 1893 from publishers in London, Leiden, and Leipzig regarding the cost of printing his manuscripts. | ||
