| Abstract: | The collection consists of the meeting minutes of Congregation Beth Israel of Honesdale, Pennsylvania covering the period 1849-1900, translated from the German by Harry Hochstadt. Congregation Beth Israel of Honesdale was founded in 1849 as an Orthodox congregation of German-Jewish ancestry, however over the next decades the congregation adopted the Reform liturgy and practice. It still exists today in its original building. | ||
