The program contains some reprints of bookplates, a list of items in the exhibition, and an article by Goodman entitled "Love of Zion as Reflected in Bookplates."

Scope and Contents

The collection consists of a program from an Exhibition of Zionist and Israeli Bookplates, from the Jewish bookplate collection of Philip Goodman, who collected bookplates and studied them extensively, which ran from April 3 to April 30, 1957 at the Theodor Herzl Institute in New York City. The program contains a few reprints of bookplates, and a list of the items that were on display at the exhibition. Also included in the program is a 5-page article written by Philip Goodman entitled "Love of Zion as Reflected in Bookplates," which talks about the history of Zionism and gives a description of some of the categories of bookplates which were on display, including ones depicting holy places, landscapes of Israel, and maps.
