The Hahme Hatalmud: Talmudic Encyclopedia in Ten Volumes was published in 1928 by the Erez Israel Publication Committee. It was compiled by Rabbi Nahum Ben-Horim, along with a team of prominent scholars from the United States and Palestine. The Encyclopedia contains the opinions and sayings of all of the rabbis found in Talmudic and Midrashic literature. It consists of 2500 subjects, 200,000 quotations and one million references.
The collection consists of a letter from Dr. Pinchas Churgin, the secretary for the Erez Israel Publication Committee, to Aaron Etra asking for a contribution to help publish the Talmudic Encyclopedia. Churgin mentions in the letter that he sent Etra a portion of Volume One for Etra to examine. The letter is written on the letterhead for the Erez Israel Publication Committee of the Hahme HaTalmud: Talmudic Encyclopedia in Ten Volumes, by Rabbi Nahum ben Horim. The office for this committee was at 126 Delancey Street, New York City, and the price of a complete set of the encyclopedia was $50. There is also a list of the people on the committee on the left side of the page, and on the right side is a small note explaining the contents of the Encyclopedia.
