Biographical Note

Nathan and Lila Hausman held parlor meetings for Vaad Hatzala and Rescue Children, Inc. at their home in Brooklyn. The first meeting of Rescue Children, Inc., hosted by the Hausmans in 1944, raised $42,000 for the cause. Nathan Hausman also provided affidavits for refugees fleeing from Nazi Germany.

The collection contains an interview with Nathan and Lila Hausman of Brooklyn, New York. The tape narrates the rescue and fundraising activities of the Hausmans and their work with Vaad Hatzala and Rescue Children, Inc. It also includes a four-page typed summary of the interview.
