The collection contains a letter written in 1930 by Baruch Belfus of Bialystok, Poland to his boyhood friend Joseph Raphael, who emigrated to the United States. The letter is in Hebrew and is seven pages in length. In it, Belfus states how much he misses his friend and that he is jealous that Raphael went to America. He mentions several of their other friends still in Bialystok. He also describes various aspects of his daily life, such as the Jewish holidays of Pesach and Shavuot. Also included in the collection are photocopies of pages 3 and 4 of the letter.
