He received his ordination at the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary, and was a qualified shochet (ritual slaughterer). The collection contains a photograph (circa 1905), some of Young's letters of credentials as rabbi and schochet, and a brief biographical sketch written by his son.
