Following the fall of the Soviet Union, the CN's main activity became to assist residents of the Caucasus and Central Asia republics in obtaining refugee-status admission to the United States. The collection consists of the CN's administrative records, individual case files, and reference resources from the period 1984-1999.

The collection contains correspondence relating to Kisch's involvement in Kehillath Jawne Austrian Jewish Congregation, medical journals from Germany, medical correspondence, drafts of articles, and manuscripts on various scientific topics.
